Dot’s Life of Faith
by Angela Park
When I first heard that I was moving schools, I thought, “That’s fine with me.” But when I learned I was going to a public school… I was devastated!
I have been going to private Christian schools ever since I was born. I was never exposed to the danger lurking around in public places. I was not scared of my new school, though, because I got along with other people well and I was not a bad student. So I had confidence that I would make friends and impress my new teachers.
But still, I could not imagine myself in a public school. There would be no classes teaching about God’s love for us, no chapels, and worst of all, I would be in a non-Christian environment in a public school. But I knew God was trying to tell me something and I was determined to find out what.
I went to bed feeling pretty good. Maybe a public school wouldn’t be so bad after all. I never had trouble with getting along with other people, so it never came into my mind that I could have social problems...
